Afro-Arab Microfinance has contributed GH₵5,000 to the Ayawaso Muslim Development Fund, presented at the official launch of the Socio-Economic Development Fund at the Ahlu-Sunna Wai Jamah Office on 15 June 2023.

The contribution was made as seed money to help establish the Fund, an initiative led by elders across the Ayawaso Central, North and East Municipalities.

Founder Alhaji Salamu Amadu said the donation came as part of the group’s corporate social responsibility, describing a company that “believes in development and empowerment”, with a particular focus on young people and women.

Speaking at the launch, he also referred to his own roots in Mamobi and his satisfaction at the changes being driven by community leaders in the area.

He was accompanied by Mr Ebenezer Egyir Tetteh, General Manager of Afro-Arab Microfinance, and Mr Abdul Fatahu Alhassan.

The launch brought together all 23 Assembly members, around 60 Jummah Mosque Imams, chiefs, opinion leaders, women’s groups and municipal chief executives from the three Ayawaso municipalities.
