Afro-Arab Microfinance has been named Best Microfinance Institution in Ghana at the 2025 Global Banking and Finance Review Awards, announced at a ceremony held in London.

The award recognises the institution’s work in women and youth empowerment, and its role in widening access to finance through micro-lending, entrepreneurial training and community programmes.

Board Chairman and Founder Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu described the honour as a reflection of the company’s commitment to empowering women and young people, and said it affirms that the work is making a real difference.

General Manager Ebenezer Egyir Tetteh pointed to the range of support offered, from tailored microloans for women traders to mentorship for young entrepreneurs, saying the aim is “breaking down barriers to opportunity”.

Mr Tetteh also thanked the institution’s clients, whose continued support he credited for the milestone.

Afro-Arab Microfinance is a subsidiary of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies.
